I got up nice and early today to get a lift and a run in for the morning. I've been making myself get up earlier and earlier lately, but my 5:45am alarm was not met with much excitement. Still, I was up and lifting before the sun came up, but then a few minutes into my lift, my dad directed my attention to the sunrise.
My picture doesn't do it justice, but it was a really nice sunrise and a great view to start the day. The clouds were laid almost perfectly parallel to the horizon above where the sun was making its entrance, casting a gold and pink hue across the lower clouds, which you can kind of see. What you can't see as much is the texture in the clouds that really made the colors stand out - I had to rush outside to catch the good part of the sunrise and, or course, had the wrong lens.
It definitely felt good to get a lift in before my run and it helped to get my blood flowing so that the 34 degree weather wasn't too much of a hassle to deal with. Not being able to run much for the past few weeks has set me back a bit, but I was able to keep my 3 miler under 30 minutes today which is in keeping with my goal for the end of this year, so I wasn't too disheartened. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up the motivation to do both in a day!
